Tutancowmun created by Savannah Finestone.
I wanted to bring some outrageous bling to the Surrey Hills by adorning my cow in gold taking inspiration from the Pharos of ancient Egypt. In Ancient Egypt a number of gods were worshiped in the form of cows and were seen as a symbol of wealth, power and prestige often represented in tombs. With this in mind I thought this design would be very apt as an icon in the Surrey Hills, as a representation of our area’s abundance, influence and significance. Also as an English literature student I wanted to combine my love of language with my passion for art and couldn’t resist using a play on words in the name of my cow.
