Ecclesiastical commissioned well-known artist, Emily Ketteringham, to design and paint this cow with a design inspired by Capability Brown to commemorate the 300th anniversary of his birth. Brown’s influence can be seen in many of England’s finest country estates and mansions, including Claremont, which contains many of the features distinct to his designs.
Emily’s work highlights the design concepts that are most frequently associated with the landscape artist including a walled kitchen garden, dairy and memorial column. It also features a house that typifies the types of buildings Brown was associated with as well as traditional garden tools that would have been used to create the impressive landscapes.
Sponsors, Ecclesiastical Insurance are a specialist insurance firm; who insure Grade I listed buildings, many of which are heavily influenced by Capability Brown, which was another great reason to celebrate his work.
